Day 1 Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Board your ship, get settled in and meet your fellow travelers and your Viking Expedition Team. Your overnight stay will allow you more time to explore Toronto.
Day 2 Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Choose from excursions featuring the city’s architecture or you can browse Group of Seven art at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Perhaps you may want to explore Toronto's food scene at the St. Lawrence Market. Alternatively, you may enjoy kayaking around Tommy Thompson Park or fly over vineyards of Ontario's noted wine country.
Day 3 Scenic Cruising: Seaway Locks Transit
Travel along one of North America’s most important trade routes. Interact with the Viking Expedition Team and Viking Resident Scientists as you cruise past Montreal and make your way through several locks en route to Lake Ontario.
Day 4 Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada
Cruise the channels and bays of Lake Saint Pierre, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, or observe beavers and bears in their natural habitat. Learn how the forest contributes ingredients to Northern Quebec’s unique cuisine or discover the geologic heart of North America during a scenic hike through the forests of La Mauricie National Park.
Day 5 Quebec City, Quebec, Canada
Immerse yourself in the stunning beauty of the Canadian wilderness during an ascent to the summit of Mont-Sainte-Anne, where you will be treated to sweeping views of Quebec City, the St. Lawrence River and more. Or, go bird-watching among the river shorelines, tidal marshes and lowlands of the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area. Alternatively, leave terra firma behind and paddle a kayak around scenic Île d’Orleans, the “Garden of Quebec.”
Day 6 Saguenay, Quebec, Canada
Board a zodiac or seaplane to explore the confluence of deep forest and marine habitats in the Saguenay Fjord. Cruise the waters of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park in search of the elusive beluga whale or visit a family-run organic farm for a guided tour and delicious lunch created with fresh ingredients.
Day 7 Sept-Îles, Quebec, Canada
Board a boat to explore the islands of the offshore archipelago along the St. Lawrence River, home to a diverse number of marine and terrestrial species. Or, you may enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the region during a thrilling helicopter ride. Capture the beauty of Sept-Îles on camera, hike scenic Grande Basque Island or spend time spotting blue and humpback whales in one of the world’s best whale-watching locations.
Day 8 Cap-aux-Meules, Quebec, Canada
Admire the striking sandstone cliffs and sea caves while paddling a sea kayak along the island’s rugged coast, or spot harbor and gray seals during a zodiac ride to uninhabited Brion Island. Bask in the natural beauty of the Magdalen Islands during a horseback ride or meet with local artisans and sample traditional Acadian cuisine.
Day 9 Prince Edward Island (Charlottetown), Canada
Explore the effects of erosion and climate change ton Prince Edward Island’s fragile coastline with university scientists. Get up close to majestic birds of prey during a falconry lesson or learn about the life of a lobsterman over a delicious meal. Celebrate the culture and music of the island at a traditional ceilidh.
Day 10 Scenic Cruising: Gulf of St. Lawrence
Spend your day cruising the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the world’s largest estuary. The gateway to the Great Lakes, it is home to many protected natural areas. As you sail, view the coast of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Covered in verdant forests, cut through by river canyons and ringed by rugged cliffs, the park and surrounding shorelines create an inviting habitat for a variety of wildlife, from bald eagles to marine animals.
Day 11 Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Choose to take a coastal hiking excursion to picturesque Peggy’s Cove, or cast a line into the Atlantic Ocean during a deep-sea fishing expedition. You can also paddle a sea kayak out into the harbor to explore the wilds of uninhabited McNabs Island or bike along the famous Salt Marsh Trail.
Day 12 Cruise the Atlantic Ocean
Spend your final day at sea cruising Atlantic waters. As you sail, you might take a swim in The Pools. Get to know the Viking Resident Team and Viking Resident Scientists as they introduce you to the schedule for your Viking Expedition voyage through Canada.
Day 13 New York City, New York, United States
